Hunter’s Deal Falls Apart
Fox News reported that Hunter Biden's plea deal to plead guilty to two misdemeanor tax counts fell apart during his court appearance on Wednesday as federal prosecutors revealed that he is still under federal investigation. The judge questioned the possibility of future charges and whether violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act were being considered. The court went into recess for federal prosecutors and Biden's legal team to discuss the plea deal further, as they appeared to disagree on the terms. The plea deal was expected to avoid jail time for Hunter Biden on a felony gun charge and had faced criticism from Republicans and opponents of the president.
He changed his plea to not guilty following the breakdown of the deal.
