Where Are Feminist Groups?
Over the weekend, actress Mayim Bialik posted:
There has been an abhorrent and conspicuous absence of women’s organizations around the world unequivocally condemning the systematic rape and torture of women on October 7 by Hamas. Brutal gang rapes, sexual torture, and murder of fetuses happened- period. Where are the “BELIEVE THEM” voices? These crimes against women were in many cases documented by the terrorists themselves and broadcast for the world to see. Those of us who have fought for women’s rights and have sought to shout from the rooftops when women’s bodies are being used in war for the sadistic pleasure of perpetrators are astounded at how the world has been silent surrounding this.
At Hollywood in Toto, Christian Toto noted that after reading through the National Organization of Women’s Twitter feed, he found only one post and it was six days after October 7 and “generic and brimming with moral relativism.”
One response to NOW’s tweet read, “You didn’t mention the use of rape as a weapon. You didn’t condemn Hamas. You are silent a mothers getting their fetus ripped out of their womb, or babies burned alive. You are a disgrace to real feminists, like me who marched in the 1970s.”
Toto wrote:
The group’s blog also neglects to mention the Hamas attacks or how its terrorists singled out and savaged women in the worst ways possible.
The Feminist Majority Foundation’s news page lacks a single story tied to Hamas’ ghastly attacks. The group publishes Ms. Magazine, and its lightly-used X account makes no mention of Oct. 7.
Hollywood feminists have been similarly mute on the subject. Yes, some actresses have stood strong on the issue from the beginning, including Debra Messing, Amy Schumer, Patricia Heaton and Gal Gadot.
What about the actresses who joined the Women’s March every year of President Donald Trump’s presidency?
As always, women’s organizations are leftist organizations first and the left has made the choice to not speak out against Hamas and their atrocities.
