Trump’s Super Tuesday
Both Trump and Biden won their primaries handedly last night, as expected. See all results here. Nikki Haley wont Vermont (a good complement to her DC win) and a guy named Jason Palmer beat Biden in American Samoa.
Reuters reported that both candidates focused on each other in their victory speeches, with Trump criticizing Biden's immigration policies, while Biden portrayed Trump as a threat to democracy. Down-ticket races also saw notable developments, including California's Senate race in seat previously held by Dianne Feinstein and North Carolina's contentious gubernatorial race. After living in a blue county in Virginia for so long, it was fun to vote in a Republican primary where there were multiple candidates for nearly every race!
On what was on Americans’ minds, Reuters noted, “Immigration and the economy were leading concerns for Republican voters, Edison exit polls in California, North Carolina and Virginia showed.”
