Too Big to Rig
Fox News reported Donald Trump has defeated Vice President Kamala Harris to become the 47th U.S. president. Fox News projected Trump's victory after he secured crucial battleground states, including North Carolina, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Georgia, surpassing the required 270 electoral votes. CNN finally called the election around 5:30 a.m. ET this morning, reporting, “Former President Donald Trump will defeat Vice President Kamala Harris in a historic political comeback, recapturing the White House following an election loss in 2020, CNN projects.”
Trump's second, non-consecutive term follows an election filled with intense competition and personal challenges, including surviving two assassination attempts. Trump's running mate, J.D. Vance, joins him in office, and Trump pledged a “golden age” for America, focusing on restoring economic stability, securing borders, and reducing inflation.

Nearly $16 Billion Spent in 2024 Elections
Via Bloomberg:
US federal elections will cost $15.9 billion this year, according to a projection by OpenSecrets, more than the $15.1 billion spent in 2020.
Bloomberg News has calculated that at least $14.7 billion had already been spent by Oct. 30, based on Federal Election Commission data.

For most of the race, first Biden, and then Harris, enjoyed a wide financial advantage over Trump. The former president took a short-lived lead in cash on hand after he officially became the nominee, but fell behind again after Harris took over as the party’s nominee in July.
Feeling Brain Drain?
Keeping BRIGHT on the short side today because there’s really only one story and I’m tired 🥱… but also a little energized. If you are feeling the late night brain drain from last night (or the last four years), Epoch Health offers practical, everyday brain challenges that support cognitive health without requiring major lifestyle changes. Emphasizing the principle of “use it or lose it,” the article discusses how regularly engaging the brain in simple, purposeful activities can help maintain and even enhance cognitive function. Among the activities that foster mental agility: quizzing yourself on what you read, navigating without GPS, memorizing important facts, immersing in chaotic environments, conversing with strangers, using your nondominant hand, shopping without a list, solving math in your head, and committing to longer reading sessions.
Each task is designed to fit easily into daily routines while stimulating mental faculties like memory, attention, and problem-solving. By embracing these accessible challenges, readers can strengthen their cognitive reserve, which may lower the risk of conditions like Alzheimer’s, and enjoy a more adaptable and resilient mind throughout life.

Thanks for giving a shout out to the Epoch Times (Health). They have become my newspaper of choice - I do actually get a weekly paper version as well as reading them online. I’ve learned all manner of things from their reporting, opinions, and human interest sections. Lots of good stuff!
