The Trump Trifecta
The Hill reported that Republicans are projected to maintain control of the House of Representatives, securing their party’s full dominance in Washington. This marks a significant win for Speaker Mike Johnson, who has had a bumpy ride. Republicans retained some vulnerable seats, like those of Reps. Don Bacon and David Valadao, and flipped seats in Pennsylvania, compensating for losses in New York and Oregon.
With a slim majority, Speaker Johnson faces challenges in advancing Trump’s policies such as tax cuts, border security, and school choice. Johnson, who previously survived an ouster attempt, will need strong party support to retain his role. It’s made slightly more complicated as President Trump has plucked a couple members for his cabinet from the House and Senate, depending on the ongoing rumors as you read this!
From separate coverage on The Hill:
Trump has already picked Reps. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) to serve as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations and Mike Waltz (R-Fla.) for national security adviser.
Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said Tuesday that he does not “expect” Trump to nominate more members for administration positions.
“But I’ll leave that up to him,” added Johnson.
…
Stefanik and Waltz will both have to resign their seats to assume their administration roles, at which point Johnson will be dealing with two vacancies and a smaller majority. Replacing both could take months.
At a press conference on Tuesday, Speaker Johnson said they “are ready to deliver on America’s mandate in the next Congress.” Compared to having the same advantages in 2017 he said, “We are not going to make those mistakes again.”

From the description of Good Energy: The Surprising Connection Between Metabolism and Limitless Health by Casey Means:
Our ability to prevent and reverse these conditions - and feel incredible today - is under our control and simpler than we think. The key is our metabolic function - the most important and least understood factor in our overall health. As Dr. Casey Means explains in this groundbreaking book, nearly every health problem we face can be explained by how well the cells in our body create and use energy. To live free from frustrating symptoms and life-threatening disease, we need our cells to be optimally powered so that they can create “good energy,” the essential fuel that impacts every aspect of our physical and mental wellbeing.
If you are battling minor signals of “bad energy” inside your body, it is often a warning sign that more life-threatening illness may emerge later in life. But here’s the good news: for the first time ever, we can monitor our metabolic health in great detail and learn how to improve it ourselves.
By the way, if you want to get a head start on Christmas shopping, Amazon is having a “get three for the price of two” sale that includes many bestsellers like Good Energy, Melania, The Women, and lots of children’s books.
