In 2020, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania swung toward Biden. They might be swinging back. CBS News reported that in 2024, with the same candidates in the race, negative economic views are making the election a choice between worry and anger for voters. Few see economic improvement post-pandemic, and many believe they were better off under Trump. CBS News opined that Biden’s advantage in understanding people’s needs has narrowed, and perhaps he's now perceived as less moderate.
Twice as many say Mr. Biden makes them feel worried as say he makes them feel either secure or confident. He trails Trump on making voters feel confident and secure.
Trump, for his part, elicits more feelings of anger, which does fuel opposition to him, helping keep Mr. Biden in these races, despite sour economic views.
It will be a facts and feelings election.
