Suspected ISIS-Linked Terrorists Arrested After Crossing Southern Border Last Spring
President Joe Biden faces criticism after eight suspected ISIS-linked terrorists, who illegally crossed the southern U.S. border, were arrested in New York, Philadelphia and Los Angeles. The New York Post reported that arrests involved Immigration and Customs Enforcement and were part of an investigation revealing one suspect discussing bombs. Two of the suspects entered the U.S. last spring, with one using the Biden administration’s CBP One app to claim asylum.
Critics, including Sen. Ted Cruz and Gov. Greg Abbott, blame Biden's border policies for the security breach.
More from The Daily Wire:
“I am not shocked this happened — we’ve seen this coming from a mile away,” said Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX). “For over a year, I’ve been saying this is the most susceptible America has been to a terrorist attack since 9/11/01. This is a direct result of Joe Biden’s border policies.”
Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott posted on X: “Joe Biden’s open border policies endanger the lives of Americans. He’s letting in dangerous criminals and people with ties to terrorist organizations like ISIS. We need a president who will put national security FIRST.”
The suspects, monitored by the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, were initially cleared at the border but later flagged for terrorist ties. The Daily Wire noted, “This is far from the first time terrorists from around the world have entered the southern border under Biden’s watch. Examples include an ISIS terrorist from Uzbekistan, a Hezb-e-Islami (HIG) terrorist, and an Al-Shabaab terrorist.”
In an earlier editorial from the New York Post, they warned:
Obviously, the terrorist threat alone is grounds to secure the border, but President Biden refuses.
Sure, US counterterror agents do their best, as with the ring they just rolled up.
But, as 9/11 proved, terrorists only need to get lucky once.
It’s vital to minimize the risk — by attacking them overseas and diminishing their numbers, resources and capabilities.
Yet one of the easiest and most critical steps is to secure the border, but this president won’t.
If you want to avoid another 9/11, send him into retirement.
