Number of Illegal Immigrants in U.S. Exceeds Population of 36 States
Under President Biden, over 7.2 million illegal immigrants have entered the U.S. from February 2021 to January 2024, exceeding the populations of 36 states. Sarah Arnold at Townhall reported that border encounters for fiscal year 2024 are on track to surpass the previous year's record. Many point to Biden's policies, including halting deportations and ending border security measures, for the surge. DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas admitted to allowing 85% of border crossers into the country.
More from Townhall:
A spokesperson for the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) said that for the past three years, Biden has been in office, illegal aliens have learned that they won’t be deported due to the president’s open-border policies.
Therefore, illegal migrants cross into the U.S. knowing they will face no consequences.
Just hours after video footage captured approximately 200 illegal migrants on the grounds of San Diego, California, Biden admitted that the U.S. immigration is "broken."
reform and abiding by our international treaty obligations, which we signed related to immigration. These reforms made America a nation of laws, a nation of immigrants, and the strongest economy in the world," Biden said to members of the National Governors Association at the White House on Friday. "But something changed. Over time, our laws and our resources haven't kept up with our immigration system, and it's broken. And our politics has failed to fix it."
