Manhattan Prosecutors Don’t Oppose Trump Sentencing Delay
The AP reported that Manhattan prosecutors have agreed not to oppose Donald Trump’s request to delay his sentencing in the “hush money” trial. The delay was initiated by Trump’s lawyers on Monday, following the Supreme Court ruling that reaffirms immunity protections to presidents. In the letter, prosecutors stated they are open to a two-week delay from the July 11 sentencing to respond to Trump’s motions.
The AP noted, “If a delay is indeed granted, it would push a sentencing decision past the Republican National Convention, which will kick off in Milwaukee on July 15. That means that Trump, now the presumptive GOP nominee, could become the Republican presidential candidate while it remains unknown what sentence he will face.”

What I’m Reading This Week
I’m still in my beach read phase and really excited for this new release from Rachel Hauck, author of The Fifth Avenue Story Society and The Writing Desk. Her latest, Meet Me at the Starlight, sounds like another fun read:
1987. Supermodel Harlow Hayes seeks solace in a quaint Florida beach town to heal from a heartbreak that shattered her entire world. To her surprise, she encounters Matt Knight--a Hollywood A-lister with a bad-boy reputation--who has returned to his hometown to help his plucky grandmother, Tuesday, save her century-old skating rink, the Starlight.
The Starlight holds a special place in the hearts of the community, once acting as a refuge for Depression-era families and bringing the town together with gatherings and celebrations. Tuesday's determination even protected her beloved rink from her husband's shady business dealings. Yet when the Starlight is threatened with demolition, Tuesday begins to wonder if an era has come to an end.
As Matt and Harlow strategize to save the rink, they find themselves on a journey of surprises, self-discovery, and the kind of healing that leads to love.
A bad boy celebrity. A sassy grandmother. A beach town. The 80s. What’s not to love?
