Lawsuit Asks for Release of Trump Indictment

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has filed a lawsuit against President Biden's Justice Department and filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to gain information about the recent indictments of former President Trump. Ramaswamy says he aims to bring accountability and transparency to the process and questions the motivations behind the indictments. He previously filed a FOIA request regarding Trump's handling of classified materials and is now seeking similar records related to the most recent indictment against Trump. The Post Millennial reported, “Following news of the latest indictment on Tuesday against Trump, Ramaswamy posted a defense of the former president, remarking that the indictment by the Biden DOJ marks a ‘sad moment in our country's history,’ as it is an example of a ‘politicized prosecution’ in addition to a ‘political persecution.’”
