Homan Reports Illegal Immigrant Releases Down By 99.9995%

Border Czar Tom Homan reported via X a staggering 99.9995% decrease in illegal immigrant releases into the U.S. since President Trump’s inauguration. Deported.News noted that “nine illegal aliens have been released into the U.S. from Jan. 20 through April 1. And eight of those were material witnesses in a criminal case or medical emergency.” This compares to 184,241 during the same period under Biden last year. Homan credits “The Trump Effect,” saying, “The leadership of President Trump has been a game changer.”

The Biden administration’s catch-and-release policies, criticized by the Subcommittee on National Security, the Border, and Foreign Affairs, released over 75% of illegal aliens encountered by Border Patrol in December 2023, costing an estimated $10 billion.

Matt O’Brien of the Immigration Reform Law Institute testified, “The system was completely overwhelmed,” noting vetting challenges due to lack of records from places like Guatemala or Yemen. Trump’s administration has deported over 100,000 illegal immigrants, while some states, like Massachusetts, defy these efforts by releasing illegal immigrants charged with serious crimes.
