Haitians in Ohio Are Self-Deporting

Townhall reported that immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, are leaving out of fear of deportation as President-elect Donald Trump prepares to take office. Ketlie Moise, a Haitian with Temporary Protected Status (TPS), said she knows several people, including her daughter and employees, who have left. Concerns revolve around the potential end of the TPS program, affecting the city’s 12,000–15,000 Haitians.

Townhall added, “Townhall covered how Springfield, Ohio dealt with all kinds of issues as a result of the influx of Haitian immigrants. This included reports that ducks, cats, and other animals were reportedly being snatched up and eaten.”

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine continued to pledge resources to address migration challenges, dismissing unsubstantiated claims of Haitians eating pets.
