Durham: They All Knew Hillary’s Plan for 2016

In his testimony yesterday, Special Counsel John Durham revealed that CIA Director John Brennan briefed Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Loretta Lynch, and James Comey in August 2016 about Hillary Clinton's plan to associate Donald Trump with Russian intelligence. Comey, however, withheld this information from the agents working on Operation Crossfire Hurricane and the FISA court during surveillance applications for Trump campaign officials.

From the testimony via Hot Air:

JORDAN: Can you tell the committee what happened when you took that referral memo, and shared it with one of those agents?

DURHAM: We interviewed the first supervisor on the Crossfire investigation, the operational person. We showed him the intelligence information. He indicated he had never seen it before. He immediately became emotional, and got up and left the room with his lawyer, spent some time in the hallway, came back.

JORDAN: He was ticked off, wasn’t he? He was ticked off because this was something he should have had as an agent on the case. This was important information that the director of the FBI kept from the people doing the investigation.

DURHAM: The information was kept from them.

This resulted in errors during the investigation and misrepresentations to the FISA court. Inspector General Michael Horowitz's 2019 report confirms the timeline of events and the public lies told by these officials. While Durham didn't charge Comey for withholding evidence, it is evident that he knowingly obstructed the investigation with malicious intent.

Ed Morrissey at Hot Air concluded, “So why didn’t Durham charge Comey for withholding evidence? That’s a good question, to which the answer is likely: he’d never have won a conviction on it. It’s clear, though, that Comey did precisely that and helped quarterback a gross intrusion of federal law enforcement into the political process, and did so with knowing malice.”
