Counterpoint: Do Dems Want to Run Against Trump?
Here are the results of yesterday’s BRIGHT poll:
Politico reported:
In public, congressional Democrats are treading lightly , figuring that Trump needs not be hoist on their petard, Axios’ Andrew Solender reports . House Dem leadership has told members that they should either not weigh in or keep things generic with a message that “nobody is above the law.” And many Democrats are concerned that excessive partisan reaction could rally GOP support for Trump or make him look like a victim of a political prosecution.
In private, Democratic strategists are thrilled with the contrast between President JOE BIDEN’s positioning in the White House and the arraignment of his leading opponent, WaPo’s Michael Scherer and Tyler Pager report : “Trump’s legal troubles have helped him raise millions for his presidential campaign and boosted his polling in the GOP primary battle, but many Democrats believe the ultimate impact of the legal travails will ultimately damage Trump if he once again wins the Republican nomination.”
It comes down to whether Democrats think they can replicate the 2016 or 2020 election results. Never shy to give her opinion is Ann Coulter, who makes some interesting points even if you don’t want to hear or believe them.
Democrats are playing Republicans like a fiddle. The left’s sole objective is to make Trump the Republicans' 2024 presidential nominee. He’s already lost three election cycles for the GOP -- why not make it four?
A month ago, things were looking bad for the Democrats.
Immediately after Trump announced for president last November, he may as well have gone into the witness protection program. Even Fox News cut away from his announcement speech. He had to have dinner with a noted Hitler enthusiast to get any attention, and, when he spoke at CPAC in February, the room was half-empty.
Looming before them was the threat from Florida: Gov. Ron DeSantis. He was beating Trump in the presidential polls without even announcing. He’d scored victory after victory against Democrats and won his reelection bid -- in a purple state! -- by 20 points, despite attacks from Trump.
Against DeSantis’ smarts and energy, the Democrats would be running President Senile Dementia and a vice president whose sole credentials are that she is black and a woman.
I, for one, will vote for the person who wins the Republican nomination.
Did Kamala’s Office Plant This Article?
Politico reports that the food served on Air Force Two, the plane used by Vice President Kamala Harris, is not up to par with the standards expected for a high-level government official. It quotes anonymous sources who describe the meals as “bleh” and lacking in flavor and variety. While Air Force One gets filet mignon on “gold-rimmed dinner plates,” those on Air Force Two get “pre-packaged chips and soggy cold-cut sandwiches on white rolls.”
A former staffer called it “a little more Southwest Airlines than Four Seasons.”
According to Politico, “Another downside of Air Force Two: no booze. While staffers flying with the president can order a beer on the way home from a long day of travel, those traveling on the vice president’s plane don’t have that option. Former Harris aides said it was rumored that Vice President MIKE PENCE banned alcohol when he was in office and Harris never changed the rule (a spokesperson for Pence did not get back to West Wing Playbook before publication).”
You gotta love these entitled staffers.
