Can Congress Stop Federal Courts Sabotaging Trump Mandate?

Fox News reported Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has proposed a solution to judges blocking President Donald Trump’s agenda, suggesting that Congress could strip federal courts of jurisdiction. “Congress has the authority to strip jurisdiction of the federal courts to decide these cases in the first place,” DeSantis wrote on X. He noted, “The sabotaging of President Trump’s agenda by ‘resistance’ judges was predictable.”

DeSantis suggested attaching such a measure to a “must pass” bill to overcome the Senate's 60-vote threshold. This comes as Trump faces judicial setbacks, with one judge prompting Trump to call for impeachment, declaring, “This Radical Left Lunatic of a Judge… should be IMPEACHED!!!”

DeSantis floated the idea in response to Rep. Chip Roy, who proposed defunding “radical courts.” However, Chief Justice John Roberts countered that “impeachment is not an appropriate response to disagreement concerning a judicial decision.”
