Border Czar Harris Congratulates Herself on Everything Going ‘Smoothly’
Fox News reported that Border Czar and Vice President Kamala Harris attended a fundraiser in Atlanta less than 24 hours after Title 42 expired. Thousands of migrants have flooded the border since the expiration. During her speech at the fundraiser, Harris did not mention immigration but instead focused on abortion, infrastructure, and protecting democracy. When asked about the border crisis, she said, “You know, I hear that everything in the last couple days is going rather smoothly, given what the concerns were.”
Harris blamed Congress and said the responsibility of immigration falls on them. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has also pushed the same talking point, calling for immigration reform.
More from Fox News:
Harris' quick pivot to blaming Congress for the border crisis echoes Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who pushed the same talking point last week.
"There’s a very important message, not to communicate only to Sen. Sinema but to all senators and all members of the House of Representatives: We need immigration reform," he said. "Everything that the Department of Homeland Security is doing, everything that our partners across the federal government are doing is within a broken immigration system. The president passed to Congress a proposal to fix our broken immigration system on the first day in office."
"Margaret, we have been pushing for immigration legislation since day one," Mayorkas told Margaret Brennan, host of CBS News' "Face the Nation." "And by the way, it didn't start on day one – this is a decades-long problem. The immigration system hasn't been fixed since the '90s."
Of course, the Democrats’ version of “fixed” is no borders and unlimited immigration into the U.S.

Fundraiser for Daniel Penny Tops $2 Million
The Washington Examiner reported that the legal defense fund for Marine veteran Daniel Penny, charged with manslaughter in the death of Jordan Neely, has now gone over $2 million. The Examiner reported, “Penny's attorney Thomas Kenniff of Raiser & Kenniff, P.C., claimed that his client was unwelcome on the better-known GoFundMe crowdfunding site, saying during a radio interview on the Cats & Cosby show, ‘GoFundMe doesn't want people like my client to raise money.’ Using a lesser-known website can have its flaws, however, as evidenced when the GiveSendGo page was temporarily disabled on Saturday amid heavy traffic.”
Seeing high profile arrests like this one and of Daniel Perry in Austin, Texas, may make residents and visitors of blue cities wonder how they may fair with a “jury of their peers” should they be in a similar situation.
