Another Attempted Assassination on Trump

The Daily Wire reported that a shooter targeted Donald Trump at his West Palm Beach golf club on Sunday. The former President Trump is safe and there were no injuries this time, thank God. The Secret Service exchanged gunfire with the suspect, who fled but was later apprehended and identified. Authorities recovered a semi-automatic rifle, backpack, and GoPro camera, suggesting the suspect intended to record the attack.

The AP reported:

Martin County Sheriff William Synder said: “He never asked, ‘what is this about?’ Obviously, law enforcement with long rifles, blue lights, a lot going on. He never questioned it.”

Martin County Sheriff William D. Snyder told WPTV that the suspect was taken into custody without a firearm. He said the suspect had a calm, flat demeanor and showed little emotion. He did not question why he was being stopped.

Former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino said on X:

Looks like it was an OTR (off the record) movement for President Trump. Security is handled differently for OTR movements, and this policy may have to change moving forward. The Secret Service loses any element of surprise with an OTR movement with President Trump because he’s so recognizable, and his in-town schedule can be predictable. The FBI is investigating the incident as an attempted assassination. This follows a July attack at a Pennsylvania rally, where Trump was injured, and a rally attendee was killed. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned following criticism of the agency’s handling of the earlier attack. President Trump praised the Secret Service agents’ action on Sunday.
